Finally! A model in OD painting… or even 3 of them! My friend asked me if I’d like to paint his M3 Half-tracks made by the Plastic Soldier Company for “Battlegroup” wargame. So I painted them, and here are the results.
Models are quite easy to build, but you have to paint them partially during the build. Otherwise painting drivers’ figures would be impossible. Models consist of about 15 parts each and they’re well fitted. They’re not fully completed – M2 Brownings and some crewman are missing, but they will be added by my friend when he gets them – I was told to make them just as you can see below.
I decided to paint every M3 in a little bit different way, so It makes easier to recognize every vechicle on the battlefield. Every Half-track was painted basically with Tamiya OD green, than shaded with same color but with a little add of yellow paint. Weathering was made using Wilder textured earth, oil paints, AK and Vallejo effects and Vallejo pigments. Pactras were used for gentle drybrushing.
